Shove Ha'penny came into existence around 1840 and would originally have been played on any flat surface that could have the requisite lines inscribed on it but the official board these days should be made of slate or hardwood with indented lines defining the beds. Our most expensive tournament board (Ref 91800) has rails embedded in the dents which can be lifted out of the slots in order to determine whether or not a coin is completely within a bed or not - if the coin moves it does not score. The mid-priced board (Ref 91670) is also tourntament standard. All boards are handcrafted from solid quarter sawn mahoganyand include 5 Old English Halfpennies and a set of rules.

Also known as Indoor Skittles or Bar Skittles, this is a very popular indoor game. Just like alley skittles, each player has three attempts to knock down the skittles. However, in this version the ball is swung around a pole, toppling the skittles as it returns. We offer a full regulation league or tournament set (ref. 80150), which is handmade in England by Jaques of London Craftsmen. It has a solid mahogany construction with Regulation heavyweight Lignum Vitae ball and chain complete with Regulation heavyweight Lignum Vitae Skittles (size 915 x 610mm). We also offer a cheaper set (ref 80260) which is suitable for the Home, Pub or Social Club use (size 610 x 350mm).
